Chipped p28 basemap suggestions?
As of now I'm running stock gsr with a blox intake manifold and a P28 chipped and the basemap was hybrid to gsr and b16 from my mechanic and possibly running more aggressively. I recently failed my emissions could this be a problem? O2 is plugged and a new cat converter was installed. Should I get it gsr base map so it wouldn't be using more fuel which possibly Why I failed? Thx
A basemap would not be the best solution to pass emissions. You probably didn't need to replace the O2 or the Cat. If you want to pass emissions you should run a stock GSR ECU. or pay to have your chipped P28 tuned properly.
A tuner shop is re-chipping my p28 cause my basemap was too aggressive and putting out more fuel. I failed the HC (burning too much fuel/oil) and CO (Dirty intake filter etc.) I'm having them re-do everything cause it was hard chipped from previous tuner, to GSR basemap with knock sensor off and IAB (secondaries off) since I run a ITR style intake manifold on my GSR. The base map would put it back to stock gsr so hopefully this would help alittle. I did not replace my O2 perhaps I should, just my cat was new. I was just suggesting if GSR basemap would be best? and what do you mean TUNE my P28?
Well I plan on getting headers, cam gears, and throttle body. Should I wait til I get them installed and get it tuned? My motor is bone stock. I plan on doing a tune to my car later or now?. Will I have to tune it again when the new aftermarket parts are installed? The shop offers $80 per hour on the tune. I don't know how long tuning may be.

I think I answered my own questions guys, thanks for the help. Once again my motor is bone stock with a Blox IM which can do for now. I'll be running stock GSR spec on my P28. YES I will get a tune as soon as I get more aftermarket parts installed.
thanks again.
thanks again.
