hey honda-tech,i have a problem on my 91 ef it is that the corner lights, the taillights and the dash dont light up. allthough they work when i lock or unlock my car alarm they, i have checked the fuses for the tailights and intruments they are okay. please help thanks in advanced

 

i would start by checking the spot where the lights were taped into by the alarm. my guess is it might have cut all the way through the wire and the only connection is from the alarm.

 

i will do your suggestion, does anyone else know a possible cause just incase??

yea i was thinking about that

 

awrite so im working on my car today:
1. alarm seems to connect straight to the fusebox and straight to the lights, dont know how that works but it does it somehow in the fusebox (connects to a socket with the number 2 on it, not fuse #2 tho)
2. i tested the light switch and it seems to be working properly, there is current flowing through the switch. (used a test light on the wire for the lights, it lights up when i turn it on and off)

any other suggestions honda-tech?? please thanks

 

If they worked before the alarm install then that is your problem. Wherever your alarm wires into the lights is where the factory wiring is likely damaged
