Before my accident 2 months ago, when I unlocked or locked my car via the remote, the parking lights would flash. But since I got it back from the garage after the repairs (on the entire right side) the lights don't flash anymore. I have no idea how the alarm's wired, what would I be looking for to fix it so that the lights will flash when I hit the alarm button? Do you know how hard it is to find a blue 4dr civic in a parking lot in NY after 8 hours of class? haha...need help plz...

 

Do the park lights on that side of the vehicle even still work?

that would be the first thing I'd check.

Unless you're rolling eurotrash ( benz vw etc...) your park light system is going to be controled by one wire. I got a vw back from the body shop once and the drivers side park light fuse was popped.

I couldn't see how the alarm parklight out put could be at fault unless the left and right sides are powered by seperate wires.

 

Yeah, the lights work. well cuz of the accident, they had to replace the passenger side headlight and turn signal. after that, it didn't flash when i hit the alarm button. I don't know much about how the alarm's wired, but the alarm itself still works, just the lights don't flash.

 

there should be a parking light fuse on the harness of the alarm, check that

 

If you don't have much experience installing alarms, there's not much you can do to troubleshoot the problem. Did you have the alarm installed by a shop? If so, take it back there and have them check it out. If any wires were damaged by the accident and/or repair process, your insurance company should pick up the repair tab.

 

well i don't know where the alarm was installed, and it's been a long time since then anyway, i guess i'm just **** outta luck, any professional alarm people got any suggestions?

 

well, i'm a professional alarm person... check the fuse on the parking lights on the alarm harness
