Mystery Wire
While redoing a botched radio install on my son's 1992 Accord EX, I came across a loose wire that was running behind the rear of the ashtray. As you can see from the picks below, it looks like the wire was/is part of a plug/receptacle somewhere in the dash. On the photo with the arrow, it looks the wire runs behind the ashtray and then back towards the stick shift area, even though I cannot tell for sure if it does so or leads off somewhere else. Additionally, when stretched to full length, the wire looks long enough to lead to the HVAC control area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody's going to be able to identify a mystery black wire, but the only things in that area of the car that have pins like that are the clock, radio, TCU, and ECU. I'm guessing it probably came off of your radio connector.

I appreciate all the responses.
Cigarette lighter ring light works fine, as does the ashtray.
I am pretty sure it doesn't go to the radio as the original harness was used with an adapter, and neither was missing any wires. Plus, the radio works great since I rewired it.
I'll keep digging.
Thanks!
