Decided kinda on a whim that we were going to do an Autobahn member day. Sundays are DEAD there...so there's plenty of track to go around. It was full track. It had rained a few hours before we got there...so the grass and paint were still wet. I kinda tried to stay cautious of taking real wide lines in certain areas.
I was at the track just to relax after a long week and I didn't go out there to break any track records. I already have excuses ready for everyone that says bad things about me
Anyway, I'll post the vid for the R first. This is my first time tracking the R. I was pretty impressed. It was the most entertaining FWD that I've ever had on track. It also handled surprisingly neutral and really well. Not bad for a stock econo-car with 102k miles on it! On a decent run, the car ran 3:13ish, IIRC.

Here's my S2000. I was kinda bummed about this. Only a 2:59 or 2:58 lap (not shown) as the quickest lap in the session. But then again, I did only take it out for ONE session (no time to match up the car with the track). Plus there was freaking traffic even though NOBODY was there. I couldn't put down a clean one. The session ended with the brakes finally giving out and me having no choice but to slow down and pit. I wish I had flushed the brake fluid so I could have gotten one nice clean run down with that car.
**I think that I edited in the "3:02 lap" at the end of the wrong lap lol. So...don't get all over me if it was the wrong lap, internetzzz.

The ITR is MUCH easier to drive than the S2000. I feel like the S2000 is out to kill me all the time. The ITR I could drive like a neanderthal and still be fine. I was mashing pedals and showing no mercy, and the car just did what I asked. Real fun car to drive.
The S2000 was faster by about 14-15 seconds per lap...which is significant. Both cars are on street tires with only bolt on mods to the engine. The S2000 has coilovers...but whatever. The ITR has coilovers sitting at home. Now that I have a base line, I'm finna put those babies on. I'll track it again probably on the 23rd at WMHM.

It was only my 2nd time at autobahn full course. The first time out, I crashed my car lol. So I'm not sure what to compare lap times to. I know spec miata times are in the 2:54 area. So comparitively, I can see that the S2000 was running on the slow side at like 2:58-2:59. I deduce this because I know it's been faster than many of the spec miatas the first time I went out to autobahn full course.
I'm not sure what a decent lap time for an ITR is out there, though. What were you guys running at EXPO on full track? Approximately? Is 3:13 slow? Am I really bad at this? lol.

Autobahn Full = lots o' fun.
You just need some more seat time in the R. You definately left alot on the table in that vid. Im betting with some practice you can out lap the S.
Just remember not to go wide at 3, you'll be alright (although I understand the fear)and 9 is called "Patience" for a reason. You gotta give it up more there.

I wanna get a car that's already got a beat *** body....maybe like a salvage title S2000 or something and go out there to show no mercy.
Yeah, I was taking it easy in both cars, admittedly. I was out there just to relax....maybe i should have ripped it up more lol. I would be less cautious of T3 if I didn't care about the car. Since I'm generally a unsafe person/dangerous minority, I'm not scared to stuff it...but I don't wanna destroy cars lol. Or atleast wait for my insurance to forget about my last escapade.

also if you are a member at autobahn then you are one lucky s o b and the cars are just secondary at that point. lol. but to your driving, shawn mentioned some stuff before and i will just go over a couple things.
-slow down and hit some apexes. you are bombing alot of them which seems to be from carrying too much speed in. i know all of this seems backwards but it is not. slow down to be fast.
-full course t2-4 or south t1-3. i know you stuffed it there, alot of people have, it is a weight transfer deal and it can go wrong. your approach to that section could have been a reason before. i dont know what you did before but once you are into t1(south course), you then straighten the wheel before you "turn in" to t2(south). that is a no no in that section. by doing that you are "pushing" through t2 which then gets you all in a mess for t3. you obviously do not need that, i think if you tried fixing t1-2 then t3 would come "naturally". you should try to make one constant arch on the wheel once you turn into t1 then unwind at t2 into a steady arch the other way towards t3. i wish i had in car showing my hands last year with nasa on south course or even expo earlier in the year.
http://www.vimeo.com/15042420 south course.
expo was my 3rd event so i left some through that section. the nasa video would be better to watch considering it was my 4th event of the year so i had a better handle on the car, excuse the pun. watch me through there, just by the car you can see the line which i took. last year the car was underpowered(vtecless b16 :[) so i was flatout mid apex t1(south) all the way to t4(south). similar setup to you, street tires, hp+. i hope this helps and maybe i will see you out at a track sometime soon.

i think everyone thinks about putting it in a wall. human nature in a way but you have to turn it around. all i thought about before itr expo this year was eating it in the kink. i took it easy towards the beginning of saturday and as the weekend went on the mph went up because i wanted to give it to the kink if you know what i mean.

no the kink at cmp. also i forgot too..the right going into patience. like shawn said, it is named accordingly. turn in a bit later there as well.
I'm a noob at tracking, but those are some very cool vids and very nice cars! I got my PY ITR from a guy in IL and mine is in very nice condition like yours! I have noticed that IL has some very nice ITRs! My .02

I agree that AT&T is awful for internet. I am also looking forward to WMHM. So we are in full agreement then.
