hello ht, hopefully you guys can help

i have a ej1, with a d15b. when i start the car, it idles fine and and my rpms are good. as i drive the car for about 5 minutes or so and i come to a complete stop my rpms will drop EXTREMELY low, almos stall then pop up again and continue to do that. its annoying, it makes things shake and make noise, id like to figure out what the problem is.

if anyone has an insight, please feel free to help out.

Did you clean and adjust the FITV?

i dont have a cel currently

i did not clean the FITV, wasnt really aware of such to be honest, i did however clean the IACV but that didnt help.

how could i tell if the IACV is broke?

and one more things, my headers have gotten pretty dented over the year and theyre a little cracked some air is getting out you can hear it at low rpms, could they mess with my air to fuel ratio possibly and mess with the idle?

 

If you unplug the IACV when the engine is idling, does the idle speed change?

Yes, you definitely need to replace the cracked header.

 

Look for plug wires, i had this problem for months, ended up taking it to the dealer and they found that one of my plug wires had a burn hole, on the shaft going inside the head, so when the valve cover warmed up with the car, it would arc to the valve cover.
