Hey, really love the Tl's and might be looking to get one in the near future. Looking for something maybe down south (I live in Canada) with absolutely no rust, just wondering how people enjoy these cars, what are the benefits or downfalls. I was also thinking of maybe going with the same year tsx, but I don't know, I just like the look of the Tl more.

u have three choises 5auto/6mt/and the type-s. they all have differant suspention, type-s being the more stiff. They are either a 3.2L or 3.5L.
luxury before sport moss deff. for daily drivin...its pefect. And you'll be apart of the v-tech community. v-tech is the most awsome advancment in engines IMO...ford try to recreat the v-tech with z-tech and had gains but didn't come close to honda
I have on 05 six-speed and absolutely love it. It is heavy, but it doesn't feel like it's a pig. The handling is pretty decent for a luxury family car. I get 36mpg at 60mph. Plenty of legroom for front and back unless you have a < 1yr old with a rear facing seat. It cramps the front passenger a little if you have the seat on that side. The sound is great. The GPS is pretty good. I've run the car VERY hard, and I have had no issues with it. It has 105k miles on it.
The TL is heavy. period. If your tryin to tune it...its posible with alot of money..but maybe look around first....however the ride in one is smooth. and its heavy because it has a soild suspention.

lol...yeah I am aware of VTEC..lol. Good insights, I know it's a heavy car, but that doesn't bother me in the least. Just looking for a nice comfy sedan in the Honda family and not a new car. I could go with the Accord of the same year, but the TL just looks way better IMO. Thanks for the replies
I know one of the reasons we bought our Type-S, was do to the fact the customer service is just awesome. I have an 07 now but had an 05 6 spd.
There is also the ASPEC suspension. There are big things happening on the other site as far as tuning, and Boosting is concerned.

I have an 05 6-speed TL-sport. It's really an outstanding vehicle. It's plenty large for cruising comfortably with others or with kids, but it's not oversized like an SUV. It's very quiet, but you can hear the engine when you really give it throttle. The top end of the motor is outstanding. With the 6-speed manual, I can pull on 09+ TL's (300hp) on the freeway. It's comfortable on long drives, but still has a sporty feel (old people say it's too stiff). They don't cost a lot to maintain and will last a LONG time if done so.
There is worries about the leather wearing quickly and the dashboard cracking so look closely at those things. A new dash cost over $600 (parts), and the dealer quotes 15hrs install time. Bad leather can be repaired, but it won't match unless you have black interior cause other colors change over time. Mine is at 64k miles and I have no cracks in the dash and the leathers fine, but I take good care not to scrape it. I use Aerospace 303 on everything except the gauge cluster. I also use a separate leather cleaner and conditioner to keep it soft.
