need some input
hey guys! i need s0me input
im in the market to buying a new car and cant make my mind up.. i was hoping that some of you guys have had some of the cars that are on my list..
my pick is between an e39 m5, laguna seca blue e46 m3, mk4 supra, or an sti. and maybe a c5 vett..my budget is 19-20. id REALLY love some input. and some pros and cons. i just want a car that is fun to drive and will treat me good. i want to take my time and find what i need. id like a car that has a lot of potential to modify. and one that turns heads. thanks guys .. im already highly educated on supras so i dont think i need any input with that. but my big thing is e46 m3 vs e39 m5.. thanks !!

You should ask this in GDD.
Normally that might be a bad decision, but you're asking about cars that some of them might like/respect.
Obviously the Supra and Corvette have the easiest ability to get power.

I'd imagine aftermarket support and availability for the e46 M3 is greater than the E39 M5.
The C7 corvette is expected to be announced/released in 2012. So by then the C5 may seem ancient.

lol soryy GDD will eat me alive. lol thats y i posted it here..
but your right the c5 will be way to throw back and it will prolly depreciate in value like crazy.
im just looking to see if any one has owned an e46 m3 or an e39 m5.. so far pros and cons for that is, m5 sucks hard in mpg. but it has alot more power.
lol man this is going to tough. thanks guys keep them coming

No GDD, no care.
I'd get the E46M or the C5 because they're easier to work on and maintain their value. M5 values fall pretty quickly, nothing is cheap to upgrade, the engine isn't all that easy to work on, and the car is kind of hefty. The Supra is nice, easy to work on, and can get a lot of power from simple upgrades, but I see no fun in running 13s in stock trim, then dumping money into the engine to the tune of 700WHP and then going out to the track and running 13s again.

Two things that could've improved your GDD experience:
1. Shouldn't have mentioned your age.
2. Saying that portfl0w sent you was a mistake from the get go.
That thread would probably be 30 pages in by now with real discussion going on had you not mentioned those two things.
Solbrothers done trolled you.

My boy had an alpine white E46 M3, his major complaint was that OEM parts were expensive. My brother had a 4spd auto C5 vette and that was hands down the most fun I had in an automatic car. My vote would go towards a vette. You could find an unmolested C5 vette for 20k easily. If you wanna drop a couple more racks, you could get a C5 Z06, which is a 12 second car stock. Only thing that sucks about vettes is that they're 2 seaters.
