Where is the transmission fluid tank?
I can't find this thing for my dear life. I have a 96 Accord EX, and i can't find the tank. I need to suck some fluid out and replace it with some conditioner. Please help! I've been looking for 2 hours now.
Nevermind just saw it was a 96... I know on the 98's there is a drain bolt, not sure on the 96.

Well, my gears are getting kinda jumpy, around 15 mph, and 30 mph... After that, it's fine. I read on a review page for accords that a product called Lubegaurd conditioner will fix this. I thought i'd go for it, cause it's been known to work. I want to try it atleast. But i'm still blank on the wear abouts of this bolt. Could somone please point me in the right direction?
Well let me ask this, are there bolts under the transmission? I.E. to drop the whole pan? If you know where the transmission pan is you should be able to find the bolt, it's pretty big if the 96's have one. If not then your going to have to drop the whole pan. I have a 93 but it's a 5 speed so there's a drain bolt and a fill bolt.

briq4, i'll be honest with you. I know NOTHING about cars, and i dont even know what my transmission is supposed to look like! I'm a lost cause... But i'd really like to figure this one out!
OK sorry for the HUGE picture, but when I made it smaller it was too hard to see. but supposedly it's in this location thru 95 (my manual only goes up to that) the picture is looking at the car from the passanger side.
Again I really would not suggest any additives, try changing the fluid with Honda ATF and drive for a while, you should notice a difference, then do the change again. Since you are only changing a rather small part of the total tranny fluid, you need to do this a couple of times, try that first, then if that doesn't work, then go ahead and put whatever you want in there. I just know on my mom's 98 she said the shifts were being weird, I did the change and it has been fine ever since.
I keep leaving stuff out, tighten the bolt to 36ft. lbs. and your going to need a narrow funnel to get the tranny fluid back in the transmission fluid check hole.

briq4... I greatly appreciate your help! You took a picture of the manual and everything! Thanks! I think ill take your advice about using the Honda transmission fluid. Recently i took it to midas and flushed it and replaced it, but i highly doubt they used honda products. Could i get this transmission fluid as a honda dealership? Once again, thank you for taking the time.
Dealership carries it, I doubt that Midas carries Honda ATF. Actually in the manual I have it says that Dexron II is recommended or it's superceding fluid type. Although it says this I'd still go with the Honda stuff. In my Accord Manual it says to use reguar motor oil in the MANUAL transmission, whic I did for a long time, but it was hard to get into first and would grind on occasion, I used the Honda stuff and no more grinds, no more hard getting into first. I just really stand by the Honda stuff. It seems to make a difference, who knows maybe I'm crazy. Oh and BTW this board has been SOO helpful whenever I needed something so whenever I can do that for someone else I'm gonna. Honda-Tech
Very cool briq4! I'm sure your not crazy and probably know a whole hell of alot more about Honda then i do. I've only my accord for only a month, and still getting used to it's ways. I'm taking the car in to get the AC recharged later this week, so i'll stop by the Honda Dealership pick up some Honda ATF, and pass it along to them. Cause i'm still blank on the where abouts. How many bottles will i need to buy you think? I'll keep my additive for the back up plan.
