car will not start
I was driving and the car died. i checked all the relays and replaced them(where is the main relay? not sure if i checked that one). there is no spark and i do not hear the pump priming. wtf is up with my car. checked all fuses also. I even tried to hit it with a hammer. but the car turns over just fine.
oh, and not sure if this means anything but there was a funny smell we couldnt place in the inside of the car right after the car died.

ALRIGHT! we figured it out. used my old vx ecu and the fuel primed and it started. turned out the funny smell inside was the ecu deciding to crap out. what could have caused it to do that? how can we avoid this problem again?
just opened the ecu up and one of the caps fried and kinda melted the board a little. doesnt look fixable
. anyone have an at dx ecu?

Sheesh.. Funny smell in your car?.. Is your ECU fried?.. If so, I can tell you pretty much exactly what happened.
1.. Your ignition coil induced too much voltage
2.. When the fields collasped inside the coil, it took out the despiking diodes in the path to the ECU and fried it.
Hope that shines some light to your problem..
But if your ECU is fine and you replaced all your relays and replaced them all, you might as well replace all your fuses and everything else. Sheesh BUBBA.. Next time, test it before you replace it. Good Luck.. Any questions?.. I would love to answer them..
