A/C Compressor Noise....
Car is a 1991 Civic Si. Sanden A/C Compressor. I bought a reman A/C compressor. Put 5-7 ounces of ac oil. Once installed, I vacum the lines to a pressure of approx 29 hgi i think it says on the gauges.
So I started to put freon in the system normal 134a freon. I had only put one can which is 12oz of freon. The pressure of the system was under 40 psi low side and high was approx under 200psi. The temp inside the car was 75-78 degrees. So I began putting the second can of freon and the pressure was still under 40psi.
I went inside the car an hit the gas pedal until about 3-4k RPM kept it steady and the compressor started a rattling noise the pressure jump up to 60psi on the low side the high side I did not even check. So i open the low side valve to let go of some pressure cause from my understanding 60psi is bad for the compressor. But i still do not understand why the rattling noise in the compressor and I did not even put 24oz of freon in the system. My understanding is that the system takes 24oz of freon.
Any one have some insight on this issue it would be greatly appreciated?

You really should read up on this before you attempt to charge your own system. You go by ambient air temperature for fill pressures and the compressor has to be cycling when you are taking your readings. Are you sure the clutch is engaged when you are taking your readings? Also do not rev the motor for practically all FWD cars - you charge them at idle due to poor air flow from the fan; yes, on vehicles with a fan/fan clutch you are supposed to idle them up to about 1,200 RPMs.
I am charging my system from the low side.
I started charging my ac while the car was idling.
But then i stop charging and then put the rpm range around 3 to 4k to see if it will make any weird noises and it did the compressor started rattling and the psi jumped to 60.
The car was on during the entire time.
The ac clutch engaged, while filling the ac system up and it was turning at the pulley.
But then I noticed that the a/c clutch will turn slowly and then it will turn fast.

Thanks for your reply.
I was giving some thought to how I did this entire process and thinking I remembered that I had taken my A/C condenser fuse out because when I had the old compressor it was popping it. So on my lunch break I went to the car put a new fuse in there.
I will still need to go home and vacumm the lines again and put some freon in there. I will post the results in here.

its blowing air at 72-75 degrees, or you're saying you are able to maintain that temp within the car with the a/c on. the air coming out of the vents if the a/c is functioning should be low 40's to high 30's.

Yeah I know it should be lower. I just have to add more freon I only added 12oz. I am going to see when i am gonna get an additional freon can to add it. Per my research the system requires 29-34oz.
The temp was taken from the a/c vents. Not overall temp inside the car. I will post more info on the final results when I have them.
