I was wondering if you people could give me some tips on what to look out for when buying a used turbo. Should help other people too!
What i have so far is check shaft play. if it moves up or down or side to side.
If it scrapes the wall of the housing. If it turns freely.

Are there any other tips i will be needing? Im planning to look at a turbo this sunday please help!

 

You pretty much answered your own question buddy, apart from that obviously just check general wear & condition of turbo. Ask how many miles its covered and try look behind the blades to see if any scrapes/**** is in the housing
