So lately i've been looking for a transmission to go with my d16z6 motor. After along await i've found one at the local salvage yard but there is one proble my 88 crx if i'm correct uses a cable transmission and i'm not a 100% sure if the transmission at the salvage yard is a cable also. Has anyone ever converted a non cable transmission in a cable transmission? If so could you tall me how was this done. p.s. i'm new to hondas and the transmission is in a 94 honda civic

 

It will be much easier to just get the cable transmission from an 88-91 Civic (L3 on the gold sticker). The 88 uses a 21 spline mainshaft so if you go with the 89-91 model you will need to change the clutch to the 20 spline.

 

Do all 89-91 civics come with a cable tranny?
Will any d series tranny work with a d16z6?
I've been looking on the internet for one but i cant find any
