Default Is this normal? Pics inside

Today I was changing the oil on my 98 Civic and while I was taking the drain bolt out, I noticed like a gap inbetween my transmission and what looks to be a mounting plate or something. Im not really sure how to describe it but hopefully the pictures can show everyone what im talking about. Do all civics have this gap? It doesnt look like theres any damage from it hitting anything since there isnt any damage done to the metal.
Dont mind the oil dripping from the bolt. It was from taking out my oil filter. I hate how it makes a mess.

Does the car in question still have the OEM Engine/Tranny..? If its a Franken-swap, it may just be a mismatched engine/tranny...nothing to worry about IMO

looks like someone put a floor jack under your tranny without a block of wood i seen them bend crack the cases if its the bell housing it could allow a breach for dirt and water to contaminate your clutch or flywheel causing rust or improper engagement if its the acutal casing the fluid will leak out and burn up your trans

As far as I know its a stock d16y7 engine and trans. The old fluid looked fine because I already changed it roughtly 6 months ago. I've had the car for roughly 8 months and its driven fine and never given me any problems. I don't have another civic to compare it to so I was wondering what you guys thought. I'm not sure if its just a bracket or not because I can see light when I look through the crack.

It's normal that's the stiffener bracket that goes between the engine and tranny to support the bottom.
