Default i need help please!!!!! [Transmission Problems]

I have a 07 civic si I'm having trouble with my transmission or clutch. For a couple of days now I've been running into not being able to shift into first gear while the car is on. I have to turn the car off an start it from first. Well today I try and start the car to warm it up and the car jolts forward in neutral. It feel like the car is stuck in gear. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with the car I just bought a new clutch.

Sounds like a throwout bearing issue to me. When you said that you have a new clutch, is it installed in the car? If so was it installed correctly?

No I haven't installed the clutch yet I was planning on installing today. Could it still be the same problem?

It is possible. Depending on the kit you purchased it should come complete with pressure plate, clutch disk, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and clutch disk allignment tool. If you replace these parts including throwout bearing, it should solve your problem unless you have internal tranny issues, but its a great place to start. What kinda kit you got?

Hope this helps!

If you're gonna replace the Throwout bearing you might as well put a clutch in it too. I would get the flywheel cut while I had it apart. It will save you a lot of time in the long run. I also had a problem about 2 weeks ago with the same issue but it was a bad slave cylinder.

Right now you car is stuck in gear you need to remove the air box and shift the trans from under the hood, you need to put the rods in N, but if you are on an incline and you have no control over the clutch it is not going to move easy.
But first:
Have you checked to see if the slave cyl is working?

If you can start the car in gear and it leaps, means the clutch is still there, and when the car is running you can't get it into gear, points to the slave not working or the throw out bearing broke or is missing which is highly unlikely.

First Make sure the slave is moving when you push down the clutch, make sure you have fluid in the res. if not fill and bleed it at the slave.

If the slave isn't working replace the slave, I do have a good slave and master at the house if you want it, much better than buying new like I did for mine.

Replacing the slave is nothing compared to doing the clutch on these cars.
