Default Timing Problem On JDM B20 Motor

hey honda-tech i have a big problems ....
i took the timin belt off my jdm b20 that i just bought in jdm engine depot ( LONG STORY )
so am puttin it back but it's being hard ... first thing i do is put the cam gears up and the 2 little lines together but the cam gears or cams arent smooth i put them together but it makes pressure to not stay together and if i let them go with the ratchet one moves right the other left ...

on the crankshaft teeth theres no mark ?? so what i did was put the crank on with the plastic and since the crank has the little mark i did it like that and i also took a spark plug out and put a screwdriver in and see when it hits tdc regardless when am shiftin the crank weird noises come out the engine ... which idk about .. can someone please help me ??

did i bent a valve ?? are those b20 interfirence engines ?

there is a small arrow stamped in the block just above the oil pump cover. if you're staring at the front of the engine (crank), it will be at roughly 10 o'clock. that is your timing mark for tdc that you want to line up with the line scribed in the crank sprocket teeth.
the lines on the cam sprockets must face each other and be exactly parallel with the head to valve cover mating surface. a difficult task, because as you've noticed, the pressure from the valve springs makes the cams want to turn. you have to figure a way to maneuver the belt on while keeping everything perfectly in place.
with the belt already over the crank sprocket, start at the exhaust cam, then the intake. this insures that the slack will be on the tensioner side, and will be taken up once the tensioner bolt is loosened

i dont see no mark on the crank teeth but am going to look again and yes i do see the arrow ... i thought i had bent valves ... thanx i didnt know the cams were difficult someone has to hold them in place while some else puts the belt

i learned a lot just now because i had put the belt on but had alottt of slack on the exhaust cam side i turned it and it jumped timing ... my question is in all of my turnin here and there did i bent any valves ?

If it's still running well, count yourself lucky on the bent valve thing. I think it's got more latitude than you think, so if you were only off a few teeth it should be ok.

Did you hear any mechanical carnage at some point? Did it run with the weird noise or just made it while turning by hand? Or ?

When you're working on the belt, remember to only turn it CCW.. it'll jump a tooth in a heartbeat if you forget and go the other way.

the motor isnt on the car yet ... i was just puttin on the belt and had one spark plug out and a weird noise would sound but the thing is the cames were almost at tdc but i kept moving the crank pulley around i moved it clockwize and counter clockwize so am guessin that engine is an interference engine ... i have warranty should i get another one isntead of puttin this one on and then havin to take it back out ? it just made the noise by turnin by hand

You might get a more experienced ear to listen to it - there may be some other problem and now would seem to be the time to either fix the problem or find an alternative engine, if it is serious.

what kinda noise we talking about? the pistons will make a bit of noise as you rotate the crank. pull all the plugs out. it'll make it a bit easier to turn.
was it ever at any point extremely difficult to turn?
if you've got compressed air handy, you could always run a leakdown test
