Default f23a not feeling right

just swapped out my hydro locked f23a1 for a jdm f23a. used f23a1 intake/exhaust mani and dizy. it runs but there are a few issues.
1. engine bay feels warmer then before but temp gauge says it's normal. coolant is cycling.
2. have to leave the TPS unplugged to drive it or else it doesn't have any power, just chokes when gas is given.
3. it idles at 1k now
4. smells rich

maybe i need to get a jdm ECU as well? or just give up and take her to a pro to get'er tuned up right...

if i need to give more info to get any help please let me know what else to look for and/or tell you

Timing is the same, valve clearances are the same. Valve clearances would have to be physically checked any way. A USDM ECu on a JDM engine would have nothing to do with vale clearance.

Were you are saying that you need to disconnect the TPS to drive, I would guess that ether the TPS is out of adjustment, or you have the TPS and MAP sensor connectors switched/crossed.

Is this the same engine that you posted about having coolant in the oil?

Did you make sure that the oil was drained and refiled after the swap was completed?
