I'm pretty new with Hondas so I know nothing about them (VW guy). My buddy wants to sell me an 00 civic ex with a turbo (87xxx miles). It has nothing done internally to the engine and has a Vtec controller, and Hondata ecu. im not really worried about anything but the engine being turboed with no internal upgrades. I live in VT and it gets pretty cold in the winter, I also want this as a daily driver. I know for a fact that he has romped on this car more than a couple times. He is asking 3000, since i know nothing about hondas or turbos, i need some input. Am i better off buying another car or is this a good deal? it also has been sitting for a couple years since he drives another car, it also needs a new intake mani which he has and is including with the car.

What car exactly?
Specs of the turbo setup?
Was it maintained properly or treated like crap?
Personally, unless I knew the history of the car I would pass.

an 00 with 87k??for 3k??? i would still scoop it up and take the turbo off if i didn't feel comfortable with it.

 

the vehicle has 82xxx on it. It probably has been beatin, he just put a new clutch and tranny in it, i have a picture of the engine but i have no idea what it is. he says its a civic ex special edition with powert everything except seats. I didnt even know they made a special edition for civics....

Can you give us more details on the turbo setup and get the images up?

Obviously being tuned on Hondata is going to be a big plus, also does it have a wideband o2 sensor?

 

If you want a reliable, turbo Honda, buy my car!

But for real, if you want more help, we'll need pictures and better breakdown of parts...i'm not expecting a miracle for $3k

Im going to go look at it monday, he said the intercooler was a greddy but he doesnt know what turbo it is...guessing a greddy....? and he also said it was a t25

Better pictures and a real parts list would be nice. This doesn't look anything like a Greddy kit like you PM'd me about. Kinda looks like an Ebay special.

 

Ebay turbo kit = worthless
