Default MUST READ: LHD Folding Powered Mirrors from USA

Hello all, it seems we can buy LHD folding powered mirrors from four US Honda parts distributors. Hondapartsunlimited, Hondapartsnow, Hondapartseast, and Hondaautomotiveparts. There may be others but I did not check. I chose Hondapartsunlimited as they have the best prices. They are also an Acura parts distributor which is more convenient.

I recently found Lings Honda but I am sure most of you already know about that site. It is a great site to search for Honda part numbers especially European parts. The motorcycle fiche is also useful but I found bike-parts-honda, located in France, to be much better. That is if you need European parts for your Honda motorcycle.

Here is how I searched at Hondapartsunlimited. Using 76250-S03-P25Z#, # denotes A-Z, I went through the list and found we carry six colors: R81, R96P, NH578, NH592P, B90P, and BG45M. I then proceeded to search for the earlier part numbers again with A-Z of 76250-S03-P24Z#. Only four colors were available: R95P, B73M, R96P, and NH578. I also checked to see if we had unpainted manual and powered; no good.

So far this only pertains to 2/3 doors. I did extend the search for 4 doors but unfortunately, nothing came up. I used the earlier and current part numbers along with unpainted manual and powered; nothing. Sorry sedans/saloons/ferios, you have to buy from other sources or at Lings; their prices are double, due to exchange rates, plus the set $80 shipping.

I do not know why anyone else has not already discovered this. This is probably one of the single most sought after part; it completes the folding side mirror package. Now no one should pay $350+ for a LHD folding powered mirror from Europe. Buy it here at home for at most half price. I just killed off profiteering on LHD folding mirror bases…too bad for vicious people.

76250-S03-P24ZM R95P Island Coral Pearl $165.75
76250-S03-P24ZP B73M Cyclone Blue Metallic $165.75
76250-S03-P24ZR R96P Inza Red Pearl $165.75
76250-S03-P24ZS NH578 Taffeta White $145.61

76250-S03-P25ZK R81 Milano Red $167.88
76250-S03-P25ZR R96P Inza Red Pearl $165.75
76250-S03-P25ZS NH578 Taffeta White $145.61
76250-S03-P25ZT NH592P Starlight/Flamenco Black Pearl $126.36
76250-S03-P25ZV B90P Supersonic Blue Pearl $126.36
76250-S03-P25ZY BG45M Aqua Mint Opal Metallic $126.36

76250-S03-G04 No luck on unpainted manual (2/3 door)
76250-S03-G15 No luck on unpainted powered (2/3 door)
76250-S04-G04 No luck on unpainted manual (4 door)
76250-S04-G15 No luck on unpainted powered (4 door)
76250-S04-G21Z# No luck on sedan
76250-S04-G22Z# No luck on sedan

Now there should be no excuse for any coupes or hatchbacks to not have LHD mirror bases. It only took me half an hour to copy paste and play with part numbers. I basically searched for 96-98 Civic and Civic coupe for LHD countries; I used KG (Germany) as all non-US LHD countries shared the same part numbers. Choosing the highest model or 1.6 model, usually VTi, yielded me with sufficient results. Anything in 99-00 did not produce any part numbers for the mirrors. These countries are LHD while searching 96-98 Civic: KB, KG, KM, KS, KW, KY, PH, TW, VN. Also an additional two countries, KF & KP, when searching 96-98 Civic coupe.

It took Honda a week to have the order fulfilled. I placed it last Thursday, 06/16/11, was shipped yesterday and received this afternoon. Not bad for a European part to be made in the US. I am not sure why we can buy this part and why Honda parts distributors in the US even carry it. It was a random search for my part, 76250-S03-P25ZS, Taffeta White. I was surprised to see it listed on a US site. I immediately went to Hondapartsunlimited and Majestic Honda to input the numbers; success! If I had not return to OEM+, I would never found this out. I was using Craft Squares but wanted to return to original form, European standard. If only we had our EJs/EM1s like those in Europe, that would have been awesome. Only thing I would like is LHD versions of CTR/Vi-RS headlights.

Why are we and Canada the only countries to have fixed mirrors? Why does everyone else have the folding mirrors? What safety or economical reasons were there to design two additional mirrors for 96-00 Civics/Els/Domanis? They should have supplied us with mirrors from Europe. Why did the DC2/4s and BB6s have their folding mirrors retained? It would have been funny to see Integras’ and Preludes’ exteriors ruined by fixed OEM mirrors.

Well, no one needs to answer that question above as now we have access to LHD mirror bases. I have done all the work, somebody please sticky this so everyone can finally complete their folding mirror conversions. Before anyone says some JDM bullshit, get your knowledge straight. Go online and learn about European Hondas. Not everything needs to be from Japan. Honda Access is shared worldwide except North America.

Time for pictures...

Another thing to add, if you want right side mirror assembly, change the 76250 to 76200 of the above part numbers. You can have a full set of LHD folding powered mirrors sourced in the USA.

Nicely done. It's one thing for them to say they carry it in their parts listing - it's another thing to actually get the order filled and shipped with the correct part.

I have played around a lot with EDM/JDM/USDM part numbers and I find the occasional part number listed in the US database that wasn't available in the domestic market - like your mirrors. Although I haven't done a comprehensive analysis, my sense is that usually if the item was installed on a vehicle that was BUILT in the US, at a US plant, and sourced from a part maker in the US, then it will be in the US database. You just have to know the correct part number to look it up. In this case, I believe the coupes were all built in the US and exported to various markets.

Also, 96-00 Sedan folding mirrors can be sourced from Canada as these were installed on CDM Acura 1.6ELs for 99-00. New parts are tres cher in Canada (add 150-200% to US price) so you'd still be better buying used from either Canada or Europe.

Are these power folding or just power tilt (mirrors only)? Also, is the LHD mirror glass made for LHD cars? Thanks

Thanks deschlong for adding more in depth information on parts location manufacturing and of 99-00 1.6 ELs.

SarahVTEC: These are power tilt and the mirror glass is still the same; R1400 convex. It is not so much the mirror glass that prevents view but the mirror assembly base angle.

Hondaguy951: Your only options for sedan is 99-00 Acura 1.6 ELs of Canada or Lings of UK. Otherwise find them used from Canada or Europe.

Bluebomber: 96-00 coupe/hatchbacks only.

Ehhhh, our 92-95 mirrors already fold in! The OP isn't talking about power-folding mirrors, he's talking about powered, but (manual) folding mirrors.

Aww, no one cares for these mirrors? This is what people with limited view left mirrors of their RHD power folding mirrors need; LHD folding mirror bases. Also for those that want non-US OEM manual folding power tilt mirrors.

Probably from the price that pushes most people away. Most of you rather get aftermarket, replicas, used, or cheaper parts am I right? Well, time to die and be buried in the archives.

Don't get too disheartened. I've written 5-page DIYs and barely had any replies.

Also, for the record, the mirror shells and glass are available on certain models of Prelude, and also later model years of Integra if I recall correctly. The only part that is not available is the mirror mount (on the door) that can't be sourced in N. America. So, a buyer could purchase OEM mirrors from a Prelude/Integra, and a set of Civic replicas, then swap over the mounts from the replicas (which are crap at holding the glass steady while driving, but mount OK on the door), and you'd have decent LHD manual folds for a fraction of the price of brand new or used overseas LHD.

Hey thanks for doing all this research for us sturmmann. Question for you though. If I already have power mirrors on my 99 ex, do I only need to buy the mirror housing? I have been dying to change my bulky stock mirrors forever because they block airflow on the window and water just sits behind them when it's raining and I'm driving. When I click on the different part number on any of the sites, they don't have any actual pictures of the part, just drawings. I wish I could see a picture of the housing. I'm assuming since the part numbers are so close that all of these are the same style as yours with the skinnier neck at the folding pivot point? Thanks

tony_2018: www.hondaoriginalparts.com

deschlong: Thanks for the support. I figure maybe I found this out too late. It has been 15 years since these mirrors have been first produced on non-US Civics. Most people would have jumped on these 10 years ago. But the current market, economy, and people's taste have gone in various directions.

CMT8281: You need the entire mirror assembly for both sides. Here is the fiche for the mirrors: http://www.hondaoriginalparts.com/ho...&block_03=8044

76250-S03-P25ZT
76200-S03-P25ZT

If I order these two parts I'll end up with black EDM power folding mirrors ready to bolt on??? (Im assuming the relay and switch are separate) If so, wow... thanks for the leg work!

Not a problem, but you end up with manual fold power tilt. Power folding is KU countries only. All other non-NA countries had heated when applicable. Usually most of them had manual fold power/manual tilt.

That's just for one mirror canadaek

Okay so I'm not trying to beat the dead horse here sturrmann, but I just called and e-mailed a couple of the honda parts websites and no one can send me a picture of the parts so I can make sure I'm paying for what I want. The microfiche link you posted is what I'm looking for which is what you got, but all the part numbers under that microfiche are different than what you posted. Bottom line, if I order parts:
76250-S03-D24ZF NH583M New Vogue Silver Metallic $165.25
76200-S03-D24ZF NH583M New Vogue Silver Metallic $165.25
I will have the same mirrors you posted at the beginning of this thread in silver, one left and one right, that will fit my 99 civic ex coupe?

Those mirrors look 10x nicer than the stock non-folding mirrors. Good find. Too bad I don't have a 6th gen civic...

I hope I am not being dense, but I have a black 2 door ek would these two work right out of the box no issues with seeing out them or anything?
76250-S03-D14
76200-S03-D14

I had a big board come off a truck and took my drivers mirror off the car monday. At least it didn't come thought the glass and hit me or something. Those mirrors are 100 each on hondapartsunlimited. I couldn't figure out what the d14 vs d15 is. I would like to upgrade them being now that I am going to have to get another drivers mirror anyways.
