Might purchase 08 TL type S, any current owners please advise
I might be purchasing a 08 TL type s. I have a couple questions.
How is the fuel economy in the city and highway?
How is the reliability? The one I am looking at purchasing has higher miles at 90k (all highway). Is there any major maintenance due soon for a type s of that mileage?

I get solid 17-18 city and about 28-29 highway with low to no pushing (auto trans). Reliability is good, I have had no issues with my car except for the bluetooth going out.
I have an '07 TL-S. Milage was 21-22 mixed highway & city.
Now it is 24mpg, a few little modes. Highway only is 26-28.

Im thinking to buy a used 08 Acura TL type-s or probably Accord V6 same year. The problem is that there are more Accords than TL-S on the local market.
What are the common issues of 08 Acura TL-S? It's still Honda, so I hope that it has a great reliability!
What about performance? I like acceleration, but don't know how TL-S will behave if you push the gas pedal.

Yeah I know, I got an auto S too. I like the auto though, too much traffic around here. What do you have on your car that gets 275whp?
Yeah I have a 6 mt S and love it.
When I get back from vacation I will install my RV6 J-pipe and RV6 Trudual exhaust.
Lowered on HR springs.
I get avg 24 mpg and 30 hwy. I get real low city due to my driving style.
Car is comfortable. I recommend a Type S if at all possible.

was looking at a type-s before buying my LOADED 08 accord. The type-s's are definitely a great buy with looks as well as performance but on the other hand...my accord was 23k with 20k miles and a type-s with only 20k miles prob closer to the mid 30k's so its all about preferance
Get around 17-20 city and 26-28 highway. We have a 07', Has about 34K miles on it now.
Love everything about it. ONLY complaint would be the stereo, I don't like anything obnoxious, Just a little better then what's in it.

i have a 05 6 speed , exhaust, pre cat deletes/jpipes, test pipe, CAI. 19 in wheels
i average 21-22 mpg on the highway. Weird most people report having at least 2-3 more mpg than me. I dont know if its because of the mods or what.
Love it though, have had no problems!

At first I was hesitant on getting a V6 because I wanted to save on gas. but an 04 TL 6-speed came up on CL for $9k with 100k miles so I couldn't pass it up.
I get about 23-24 mpg in the city and up to 32mpg on the highway. Just depends on how you drive it. If you put your foot into it, it gets up and goes and gas mileage drops down to about 16-17mpg. But if your nice you can get respectable gas mileage out of it. I have found that if you shift right around 2k rpms you get the best gas mileage. I think what most people end up doing is not shifting soon enough because they are used to a 5 speed. The TL is a 6 speed and the gears are lower then normal so you have to shift more often. 5th gear doing 40mph is a normal thing for me.
I did a quick search and found this . it might help it might not

Seems just by reading the first few posts, that if you slowed down from 80 to 70 or 60 you might see a great improvement.

When we first got the car the GF was doing horribly on gas 16-17mpg. That's because she was used to a 5 speed and just didn't shift soon enough. Once I showed here when and how to shift she was getting 24-26mpg in the city easy.
