hey what's up every one i want to get a new paint job on my 2000 civic hb and i am not so sure what's a fair price, a good price, or high price, to pay? this will be my first time taking my car to paint and i want to make sure i am not over paying... i want my car Firepepper Red Pearl but a full job including the engine bay and everything!!.. please feel free to post how much you guys have payed for a full paint job and what a good price would be. by the way i live in El Paso Texas if that means anything. thank you for your time.

 

Depending if you take a car stripped down with engine bay stripped etc... just to do the body work and spray the car is around 3 to 5k. In my area. Thats a pretty good paint job Just an all over exterior paint without door jams etc is around 2k

 

Everything will depend on area,how good of a shop "reputation",what brand paint and stuff.

I paid 2,500 for a full color change and body work. Didn't paint the bay though. I also know the painter and his wife who is the secretary there. So I was cut some slack on the final price.

I live in a small town where **** is usually cheaper also. So I'd say it'd be 3,500 if it was near a city.

 

Materials alone is anywhere between 1500-2500. So factor in the body work/labor. I wouldn't expect to pay anything less than that with good ****. At school we don't charge labor and we sprayed a rolls Royce, everything but The bay and it came out to close to $2000. ( mind you that's students doing the work for free and just materials.) The primer and sealer base and clear was all dupont chroma premier and other stuff. Don't quite remember.
