East Bay Paint Shop recommendations
Looking for an affordable paint shop in the East Bay (Oakland).
Not looking for A+ work, rather get a good bang for the buck as it is a car that is daily driven and not washed often.
Something along the lines of 1100 for exterior only paint job, minor dings.
I painted my Integra 7 years back exterior only for 1000, was not an A+ job, but for 1k it was pretty good, I give it a B B+ in quality, but that shop is no longer around.
Any recommendations for shops similar to this?
If you have before/after pics please also post, thanks!

You will not get a good paint job at all for that price. A decent exterior paint job is more like 2000. If you want to pay that little just go to Maaco, but it won't be good.

If you want to go to Sac, you will pay only a little over 1k, for a full spray and they warranty it from fading for life! QT Autobody check em out.

Re: East Bay Paint Shop recommendations
i dont really see the point of paying 2k for a daily driven old honda that is only worth 2-5k.
as long as it is 2stage separate color/clear, for the price it normally is pretty good for the low 1k range.
i was considering maaco, single stage, but for around 500 or so it is what it is.
anything in the 1k-1500 range im sure there are some shops that do a basic exterior 2stage spray.
saw a craigslist ad for a shop in sf for $800 basic exterior color/clear 2 stage paint. i might check them out but was hoping closer to east bay to compensate time/gas/toll which rounds it up closer to 1k

Check out the reviews of this maaco.

They are all independently owned and this operator knows what he's doing.

do you know anyone whos been to that maaco and went with the cheap package? i think the pics might be 2stage jobs. ie. advertise $300 single stage but show 2stage paint jobs in the pics.

I had 2 cars painted at that Maaco. First time they did my blue del sol and it was great. Second time it was my CRX and it was ok.
For the price you pay, they do a good job.

I have a daily driver accord that I want to paint, no real body damage, just a few small door dings.
thanks

i would try that place on CL for $800, i think the shop is in san leandro... i do not suggest maaco, 1 stage paint is horrible... most shops run over $2k just to spray the outside 2 stage and then wet sand and polish the entire car

They also painted my CRX, I also got the 50% off deal. I paid around $500.

This one, it looks good, they could have prepped it better.
When you go there, talk to Dave and he will work with you and your price range. He should know me, Tony the golfer, he painted my CRX and the Del Sol.

Re: East Bay Paint Shop recommendations
I will try to check out garage works as my first choice then, i saw them on yelp and remember seeing them on ht back then as a detail team.
i might also check out the maaco if i cant find a shop and decide to save money and go with single stage for my daily beater.
i will post before/after pics of whichever route i go to help others with their paint shop choices.
also for $500 looks pretty good for a maaco job from the pics, thanks for that. was it a color change? car is currently a dark green accord, thinking of going dark blue or something, dont want to pay for door jambs so keeping the color dark.

no color change. Also, if you are going to go there, take out the moldings yourself. I even took out the side mirrors. After the paint job, I bought brand new OEM moldings.

do not go to macco, one stage paint has no shine, even with their "integrated clear coat" option. You can never wetsand or wax a one stage paint job, it looks like shiet at night and in certain lighting... if you want to go to sacramento, i kno a place that will paint it 2 stage ppg for $800. its called precision
