Default At what point did you ditch multipurpose for drag only car?

I've been going back and forth a lot lately and was curious when everyone went from having a street car they could go to track and race to just a drag only car. My car has turned into an unpractical street car seeing road time maybe 1k miles a year. Now car has full cage and nonboosted brakes so was thinking it might be time the car stays off the road.

When I decided to buy another car. Left the new car alone and dumped all my money into the old one (if you want to consider a 2000 civic si with only 50k on it old)
I would not want to daily drive something that I had more money into then what the car cost new.

when I saw all these guys running 9's and 8's. Also I missed my all motor car from 2003, I had to sell from being laidoff for months. When I found a hatch with a b18c1 for only 2200 on craigslist. I jumped on it. At first i was going to be streetable 220 all motor, then I got inspired by the friendly rivalry between tony and chris, not to mention all the other sfwd guys/gals and all the fun it looks like they are having. So turbo was the way to go. I hope to run a first ever low 10 off the trailer then tune it in to run a 9.. I work my *** off to build this car, and as much as I can do myself I do.. ( which is prolly 75% of it. ) by the way Raul Gonzalez has the best lookin car.. love that shitz!!!

It really depends on what youre going to use it for on the street...my car still sees street use go to meets and shows stuff like that not like im using it to drive to work daily or anything. Although not really too many 9sec street cars cruising around my way, its pretty cool to drive it on the street every once in a while lol look at TD autowerks ek theyve driven that on the street it runs 8s so its your call man whatever makes you comfortable honestly but me i cant just have a track car and watch it sit in my driveway untill the 3 events a year come around in my area its a waste to me!

When I finally realized driving it to the track hoping it wouldn't break ,sucked.
Having to call for a tow and then asking for rides until it was fixed, was the worst.

When I realized I needed to keep my license for my job and I wasn't responsible enough to keep my foot out of it.

When I was forced to buy a tow dolly so I didnt have to drive it in my neighborhood late at night, and then realized it was worthless on the street. I wish I hadnt plated it this year, because Im taking it off of the streets next year.

When we put the twin disc in. It still sees a little street action, but probably less than 1500 miles on the street. Its still got a pump gas tune, but shes a race gas warrior

I know I stoped driving my civic everyday because i didnt want it to get stolen and I'd hate myself after all the money, blood, sweat and tears I put in this car to get into a car accident. Ooo and breaking parts wasNt fun either.

Good points. They all come into factor. Hate the sketchy feeling when I see cops. I hate going to meets, or parking the car anywhere, because of theives. I cringe just thinking of losing it to a collision. Its not comfortable to drive. Etc, etc, etc.

When I started getting followed by cops every week. I guess the "N20 FED" license plates didn't help. So I built a track car
