Too thin oil?

Default Too thin oil?

Hi guys,i recently rebuild my engine,now im getting 25psi on idle(oil press) nad 80psi on 3k but when it warms up i get 10 psi on idle and 40 psion 3k but if i rev it to 6k it gets to 60 and 70 psi the pump is new im using 10 w30 and i live in a very hot place should i use 10w 40 instead?would that help me?

Id stick with 5W30 or 10W30... I dont think your issue has anything to do with your choice of oil however,if you do decide to run 10W40,15W40,20W50 keep in mind you may end up doing damage from the thicker oils not being able to pass as well as a 5w30 and 10w30 motor oils

I agree. This is not an American car. Imports have closer tolerances and you can not just use a straight 40 weight oil, to slow down your oil leaks, like in the old days.
