Approx how long would it take for a typical machine shop to do a valve job on a 90 CRX head? The mechanic took it to the shop a week ago and i want to know when to start getting on this guy? Thanks

 

Thats a long as time lol. Depends how busy they r and becareful what shops u take your parts too. I had a friend take his to a non reputible and they ****ed up his resurfacing. All crooked, but around 3-4days i get my heads back.

 

2-4 days max - if they are not busy and I drop it off when they open, I can pick it up same day. This is a busy machine shop - BUT I bring all my own parts, it could take longer if they have to order parts and wait until they come in...

 

True take your own parts its quicker.

 

I was there when the head came off. It had burnt valves from a bad cat. So it will need a complete rebuild. I only paid him for the labor he did so far. So if he skips town not a big loss. I havent paid for machine work or parts. But i have to have a backup plan in case. Its only been a week. The car has about 90,000 miles so i think its worth fixing.

 

That's low miles mine had 116,000 then when I did the mpfi it was @ 120,000 and super healthy ran smooth no rebuilt.
