My car is lowered about 3 1/2" in the front and 3" in the back what can I do to get my car on the rack. Does anyone have a trick to getting lowered cars on the rack? please help!

Honestly why in the world do you need a 3 inch drop????? I would raise to a more daily drivable level like 2-2.5 inches, then do an alignment. Besides the issue of destroying the undercarriage of your car, you do realize that bump steer and riding on bump stops is bad and also dangerous. Bumpers also have a legal height? If you rearend a truck you will go right under him and possibly die if your fortunate enough to not be a vegetable for the rest of your life.

Yeah, cars that low dont get aligned

Atleast thats the policy at the dealer I've worked for. If you cant get the car on the rack then how do you align it?

The only related trick is using a floor jack to get a car on the lift, but driving up a rack is different.

The only recommendation I have is to remove your front and rear bumper and side skirts, then try to drive up the rack.

Oh, and raise your car up. 3" is too much and doesnt serve any functional purpose.

Her original title of the thread was a useless "help" so i took the courtesy of changing it for her. She apparently hasnt read the forum guidelines. Ill have to bring them back to the top.

First thing thanks a lot for changing my topic line now no one on here takes me seriously. Anyways Big 10 tires is going to do it for me for 45.00 but why pay someone to do it when we have an alignment rack here.

I also like my car that low any higher and it would look funny.

Anyways thanks for yea oh well

lay a trail of 2x4s flat in front of the rack ramps. drive up each 2x4 untill the car has approached at an angle that will not compremise any of the bodywork.

When you said your car was lowered 3" you lost credibility at the get go. You also didnt follow forum guidelines by posting a general, non-specific title to the thread.

I fixed it for you.

That's what we do. If you can't drive it over 2x4s it's too low.

exactly. When I see a car barely touching the ground driving around town, I think to myself what an idiot the cops should pull that retard over cause that is unsafe.

Look I know you guys like your cars to look stock but I don't the way my car looks makes me happy. All I ask was a tech question not to be made fun of because I prefer my car to be that low. Yea you have a point it's not safe but a lot of things we do isn't safe.

Thanks anyways I'll never post anything on here agian because of me being a girl you guys don't take me seriously and instead of offering advise you guys like to make fun of others.

Don't be discouraged. These guys will flame for anything on the more extreme side. My car is low as hell too and I did the 2X4 (actually I used 2X8 boards) trick. It worked on one rack and I got an alignment just fine. But I tried it on another and the hydraulic jack thing was just too high in the center. I tore off a mud flap and a side skirt got tore up not to mention it scraped underneath pretty bad.
With my luck I would have expected to tear the oil pan off though. It will work with the boards assuming your car will clear the equipment on the rack.
I love slammed accords too!

Driving a 3000lbs metal object with a gas tank 4ft behind you, with a fucked up suspension @ any speed is not only unsafe, ITS ******* IDIOTIC!

Uhhh Yeah.
I suppose driving with nitrous oxide or a turbo would be idiotic too because that would propel that 3000Lb metal object much faster . And who said anything about a fucked up suspension?

1. If you don't like the look of the car then don't buy. I hate neons, you don't see me driving one.

2. There's a huge safety issue. A ghetto suspenion set-up could cause you to lose control and kill someone. Any smart person knows you need some suspension travel. There are laws for reguarding ride height for a reason.

3. There is nothing cool in tearing off your oil pan, having nasty camber and going through tires every 6 months, and bouncing over every bump in the road.

I'm not saying everyone should not drop their car more than 1.5 inches, but 3+ inches is a little ridiculous. You would still be ok with a 2-2.5 inch drop.
