I'm buying a ef9 si year 89 I have to replace th right fender the hood and remove a dent on the door th handbrake does not work and it does not have the molding and interioir is not that good is it worth it for 850 ???

 

So this is a full genuine ef9 that just needs some work for $850, if so, sounds like a god price

What exactly is wrong with the brake ? I'm guessing u have a rear disc brake, or u have the drum brake

 

Well its just the hand brake it doesn't work at alll

 

For $850, you've got to expect to do some work! The handbreak shouldn't be terribly difficult to fix. Just get yourself a copy of the service manual.

I have heard rumor that the handbreaks in come CRXs are notorious for needing servicing after a while, but it should be as simple as taking the trim from around it and checking the tension of the cable, etc. - it is a pretty simple mechanism.

As far as the dents and stuff, get yourself a dent puller and some bondo from the tool store and go to town. You can find lots of helpful vids on youtube. And after it's all said and done, you'll be proud of the work you did!

Ok so its not a ef9 a usdm 89 si is a ED not EF, but anyways if the handbrake doesnt work then probably the cables are not the right ones for the rear disc swap cuz the civic si came with drums crx had disc. and If it has the seats in there, then your lucky because 89 civic is the hardest to find seats, moldings door panels so join the club in the hunt for 89 si parts oh and also bumper too some parts are not interchangeable with 90-91 civics

 

Might be able to get an 89 civic hatch fender to work.

Alfie, you mentioned seats, I hear that 90s model integra seats work great in 88 CRX - the shape is pretty much the same. I found some in the junk yard a couple of weeks back but someone got to them before I could come back for them.

 

Im not saying that there is no option for seats but i didnt know about the 90 DA seats. i actually own a 90 DA. ill verify this later, but the stock 89 si seats is what im really aiming at.

 

Yeah well it is really hard to find moldings I've been looking and still can't find them my seats are in not that's pretty good shape they have tare on them and iits messing the sunroof glass I wonder if its hard to replace this I'm still looking for a hood and a driver fender ef9 and the seat assembly for the driver seat the metal parts that goo in the bottom and the moldings and if possbile can some explain how I can fix a dent/ sratch on my bumper I would post up a pic but its not leeting mee ..
