I had a similar Mickey Mouse job on my old '91 MR2 in which I used a piece of jump rope to serve as a temporary engine bonnet prop rod clip. It was a cheap fix that was definitely worth every penny (and I do mean literal pennies!) to see the astounded look on the faces of all of my car buddies whenever I lifted my bonnet to show-off my JDM 3SGTE engine!

Anywhoo, I actually have a few Honda-owning friends who reside in and around Jersey and they've ordered some random parts from hondapartseast.com.
