Icon6 Fuel Pump not getting Power, Please help

I have recently had the power to my fuel pump die. I could really appreciate some advice to guide what else that could cause the power to me fuel pump to be cut off.

I have a 1996 RS, with a B8c5 swapped in. The only mods to the fuel systen is the brand new Walboro 255 fuel pump I installed last year (still has stock ITR fuel pressure regulator, injectors, fuel rail). The car has been running perfectly for 3 years and yesterday the fuel pump would not prime when I turned the key to the 'on' position. (You can normally hear the pump prime because it is pretty loud).

I have gone through the Haynes manual and checked the fuse panel by the drivers side (to the left of the clutch). I pulled Fuse # 18 (7.5 amp fuse), and it was still good/not broken. I also checked all of the 50A relays for ignition and other within the fuse box in the engine compartment. Those relays all appear to be intact. I changed my Walboro out for my old stock pump to see if it primed but it was still dead. I pulled back the clip connected that goes into the top of the fuel pump under the rear seat (I think it has a white/blue, and a yellow wire). We used a test light to check and there was no juice at the pump. Something is causing there to be no power at that point in the circuit. The only other thing the manual said to check was the PGM-FI Relay that I located under next to the fuse panel on the drivers side. I am not sure how I can diagnose that relay.

Can you please let me know what else I can test to see what's causing there to be no power at the pump. I have found this wiring diagram online, let me know if it appears correct.

On my 93 del sol it is a worn out ignition switch. I've checked all the usual suspects including main relay, thernostat housing ground and the fuel pump itself. If you put the key in second position and jiggle the key and put pressure on it you might hear the fuel pump prime. After a while the switch fails. I'm getting mine on ebay for $43. Looks like a easy install under the steering columm covers.

I will give my ignition cylinder a shot by turning it to the 2nd position right after putting the key into the cylinder and try putting pressure in different directions. What direction did you push on the key to get the pump to start priming? I have bypassed my rad fan switch so that the fan is running all the time. When I turn my key to the "3rd or 'on'" position, my rad fan does turn on and the car cranks over no problem. Thanks for the advice, I will be working through the possible causes until I figure this out.

Thanks,

Justin

Most likely a problem with the PGM-FI Main Relay, fairly common on older Honda/Acura...
http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/mainrelay.html Your relay is in the same place as the 92-03 Civic/CRX

Here is a good YouTube vid on a DIY fix... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viIZ8k60awY 94

i didnt read but if your fuel pup isnt getting power then chances are the main relay, which also controls the fuel pump, is bad. theres a simple diy fix that just requires a soldering iron. its a common issue in hondas and if you look for an aftermarket one at autozone or pep boys then make sure they dont look in their "relays" section. its most likely going to be under the sensor area

Hello guys, thanks a lot for the replies. I was able to locate to PGM-FI (Main) Relay, it was next to my driver side fuse panel (close to the clutch pedal under the dash in my DC2). Thanks to the advice I started working backwards from the pump forward and found a large guage wire electrical taped into a smaller guage wire with a bad connection. It had overheated and fried. I used new electical connectors and was lucky that the larger guage wire reached the connector by the e-brake level. I re-installed the Walbro fuel pump, and then you could hear the fuel pump prime loudly. She started on the first crank. In the future if the pump does not prime again I will check the soldering on the PGM-FI relay. That video has probably saved a lot of people a lot of money with such a simple and effective fix.

im having the same problem.
im not getting any power back to my fuel pump. i have checked my grounds, they are good. i took apart my main relay and re-solderer all joints. later tonight or tomorrow i will switch main relays out of my other integra to see if that helps.

i did try to run just a normal switch to the fuel pump, and the pump will turn on but it continues to run unlike when its primed and the pump shuts off before you start the car
