Default timing light says 29 degrees off

i timed my b20b and it said it was 29 degrees advanced so i took it home and took off the valve cover and upper cover. i put the crank pulley on top dead center and the cams were up with notches facing each other. it looked dead on to me. could this have to do with my distributor?

Probably has more to do with your timing light or method of checking time rather than the distributor.Mark your crank pulley with white out so that you know you're going off the correct mark and not the marks that are 2-3" away from it.
