Lowering kit trouble
i recently tried to install a megan racing coilover kit on my 97 accord. the stock springs are 4.5 inch wide and the new springs are 3.5 inches wide. the piece the spring sits on is made for 4.5 inch springs. the 3.5 springs wont sit correctly. sorry if this is confusing but i tried to explain it as best as i could. what is the best way to fix this? im wondering if the lowering kit is made for a civic, im assuming they use 3.5 inch springs. accords being heavier need 4.5's maybe? so im basically asking where i go from here. whats the best way to fix this issue. thanks

******and the piece the spring sits on is on my stock shock. sorry im sure theres a name for the piece im talking about but i dont know vey much about suspension. this is the first time ive ever really messed around with susp.
The piece that the sleeve sits on is called the perch. The piece that the spring sits on is called the collar. You do NOT mount the springs directly onto the shock like the old springs were installed. It doesn't matter in the slightest how wide the original springs were as long as the sleeve fits snugly onto the shock, usually with o-rings installed to keep it from moving around and eventually mushrooming the sleeves.
well yea but googles flooded with irrelevant pictures that dont really show me how to mount them. im just going to take one of the shocks and the kit down to goodyear so they can show me how to mount it.
