00 civic si S4C transmission question
Hi,
I'm about to pick up a 2000 Civic SI that has no 3rd gear. I found a LSD S4C transmission for sale to replace the current tranmission with. My question is what should I look for when I go to pick up the S4C transmission? Also is this a good swap for a 2000 Civic SI?

It may be a CTR transmission. Hard to tell without seeing it in person. Make sure that when you look through the differential opening that you don't see a differential pin going across. A differential pin going across would indicate a non-LSD trans. If it has an S4C sticker and no diff pin going through it can either be a CTR or a 99-00 Civic Si with an LSD. Both the CTR and 99-00 Civic Si have the same gear ratio in 1-5th gears with a 4.40 final drive ratio. The shaft gearing is great...I would bump up the final drive to a 4.7 or 4.9 depending on what you plan to do with the car.
