Hello everyone,
Hopefully you guys can help me with this issue. I was driving my car tonight in 5th gear doing 62mph, out of no where the car jerks like I pulled the e-brake. So I pushed in the clutch thinking maybe the transmission locked up or something. Once I did that the car shut off, I coasted into a nearby parking lot, tried to restart the car, after 5 try's it started. But it had a low idle again (700-900 range) and the oil pressure light was oil. I lightly put my foot the gas once it reach 1300 rpm the oil pressure light started to blink very quickly. I then shut off the car and got a ride home.
Any theories? I'm guessing. Please help.

Known issues:
Small exhaust leak just below header, awaiting new header/ down pipe.

oil level? leaks? compression test that bitch

 

Oil level was perfect. No signs of antifreeze. No leaks. Car is still on the side of the road, towing it tomorrow. You think a piston ring blew?

 

Manually check oil pressure before you do anything else.

Well I figured out how to check oil pressure. Thanks for the link to service manual . To bad the timing belt took a **** and broke everything. I think now is a good time to dump the 2.3 and go for the vtec or do a complete rebuild. Any good recommendations?
