Oil pressure light flashed

Oil pressure light flashed
I was driving yesterday and all of a sudden my oil pressure light went on for about 2 seconds. I stopped the car, check the dipstick and saw nothing. Went to the closest gas station and filled it with oil.
The light never turned on before that, and it only went on for a few seconds. Everything seems to be running fine now, but how much damage do you think can be done?
I checked my compression about 2 months ago and the numbers were around 190 across the board (D16Y8), engine has about 170,000kms on it (about 100,000 miles). Never burned any oil before and doesn't smoke when at idle or driving. What do you think went wrong?

Re: Oil pressure light flashed (SixPAK)
the oil pressure light flash mean that there was no oil pressure in a very short time(1-2sec). about the damage, its all depend.........but i guess there would be some damage on your bearings.

Re: Oil pressure light flashed (spoon_ek9)
with a motor with 100k its bound to start buning a little oil...it even says in the manual that its natural to burn a little even in new motors...just check ur oil level a little more often
and if ur using regular dino oil id change it every 3k like they recommend..but personally id change over to Mobil 1 if ur not already using it

Re: Oil pressure light flashed (deepnite)
How long can I go without an oil change by using synthetic? I drive so much I am tired of having to go for an oil change every month.
