I'll buy one if I really really have to, but does anybody know of any places that may rent out engine hoists?

 

Autozone. As far as i know their policy is that you have to pay the price of the engine hoist (or part for that matter) up front, then use it. Once you return it you get a full refund. Give it a try, its free renting.

I got my hoist off eBay for $210, it came with an engine stand, a leveler, and the guy was local, so he dropped it off at my house

i think home depot rents tools out too.... i know auto zone does too

 

you can check out nations rental. there many place just look in the ph book.
