SPC experience
I recently purchased a set of CSII coilovers (350F/500F) from Progress for my 98 Integra for that I used for DD and autocrossing. I also purchased front and rear alignment components from Progress. This included SPC adjustable front upper ball joints and SPC adjustable rear upper control arms. The rear went together with no problems. However, there were problems in the front. The front ball joints for an Integra are SPC part number 67-135. The boxes are labeled 67-135 but, the ball joints in the box are 67-170. The 67-170 are for an Eclipse and are completely different. I had to have the installed ball joint plates pressed out and the correct plates pressed in. I am getting some compensation from SPC for the mistake but, I am going to have to pay for part of the installation and all of a new alignment out of pocket. SPC is claiming that Progress switched the ball joints in the box. Progress states that they have never ordered 67-170 ball joints. I have no reason to believe that Progress switch anything because, why would they? This is a reminder for every one to check the part number on the part before you install it on your car. It could prevent a potential headache down the road. I am going to have to fight with SPC to get reimbursed for a new alignment.
