Default One more forum can't hurt... Hello!

Well, been browsing around HT for a little while. Have been a member on PO and PP for a while as well. I have an 01 Prelude Base, thought I got a good deal on it, did some repairs after I got it, but it ends up having a bad cylinder and rings. Sooo.... I am on here for two reasons:

1) I am the kind of person who needs to know everything about something before I work on it/buy things for it. I do not have enough knowledge or experience with Honda's to do so either, even though my mechanical background is quite extent (background in aviation repair, and road racing and working on motorcycles mainly). With that said I hope to gain some more knowledge in deciding what to do with this motor (build or JDM replace).

2) Maybe meet some people local that know their stuff. This is the second FWD car I've ever owned (the first one was a 97' lude, but was totaled only 8hrs later), so I hope to enjoy it.

I have already done some work to it: JTC Customs short shifter w/TWM bushings, a custom stereo, clutch, some oil seals, etc... and have more I would like to do, AFTER I GET THE MOTOR BUILT/REPLACED.

Well that's enough from me, if you have any suggestions lemme know. I ask a lot of questions, search a lot, and buy the occasional parts so you will prob see me around quite a bit. Thanks

ok first where are you at? 2nd get it sleeved rods pistons and a sick turbo and you will be good to go... just get some LA sleeves (they produce darts sleeves or some other big name ones but LA are cheaper and just as strong)

Ah, well I'm in Fort Myers FL... (doh) And yes sleeving was definitely on my mind. I don't know about a turbo though.... thought more about a nice N/A build. A lot of people say traction is real problem over 300whp. But I will look at LA for sure. Thanks.

You can probably repair the cylinder, or you can take the opportunity to do a more involved build. If you need it for a daily driver, you can get H22 engines pretty cheap these days, so you could swap in a used engine to get going then take your time rebuilding the current engine. Welcome to HT.

Well I am looking for someone to do a hone on my block here in FL, but am having trouble finding someone. A guy I work with drag races is NHRA referred me to someone, and I went and saw him this morning... He didn't seem like he had done one before and was pretty quick to say "ya I can do that"...

I sent DonF a message, heard he was a good guy here in FL. Just weighing my options here. Also searching to find out where I can get some OS Type-s pistons from, besides Japan...

Thanks for the Hello's
