Default Could I fix this window issue my self?

I purchased this 2001 Honda Civic recently but didn't realize that the passenger window doesn't seem to go down all the way. I was wondering if this is something I could probably fix by removing the inside door panel or would that be a waste of time? the motor seems to work correctly since it does go up and down fast. any help would be appreciated thanks!

you can see the issue from this video:

Pull the door panel, remove the vapor barrier, and see if it's binding on something.

Second--the panel takes a couple minutes and, what, 5 screws to remove? (1 in armrest, 2 behind inside door handle, 2 behind armrest that you can get to by popping the top part off after removing the first screw). It can't hurt to take a look.

They can, but they'd have to have some seriously huge magnets.

My door speakers have reasonably large magnets and the window goes down until there's about an inch left, then it hits the rubber magnet covers (which add even more bulk) The OP's windows stop several inches before they should. It also comes to a rather squeaking halt than a "thud - I just hit something" Just sayin'

Either way, he's going to have to remove the door panel and vapor barrier.

Don't even worry about it, mang.

No matter what the problem is, he's still going to have to remove the door panel and vapor barrier to get to it.

I wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions! I tried to remove the door panel but dont see any screws in the armrest? I removed the two from the handle and tried to pry the armrest since i saw no screws and i got both edges out of the clips but the middle of the armrest seems to have something white holding it but again I see no screw at all

Uh.. that does not look like a 2001 Civic door panel. Are you sure you posted the correct year?

Hmm.. it's possibly because I have an EX coupe, so I'm not used to seeing the oddball door panel of an LX sedan. The shape and angle of the armrest just doesn't look right. lol

Anyway, here, this should help. http://www.civicforums.com/forums/21...tallation.html

Hey I know I'm very late to post back my results and to thank you all for your advice. Anyways I finally got around to opening the door panel (Thank you "It Wasnt Me" those instructions deff helped.) and I found what seems to be a block of foam from Honda. After removing that my window now goes all the way down!!! Once again thank you guys! Below is a picture of the foam block.
