ok so i was given a b16 tranny that wont go into fourth but goes into every other gear ok. im assuming its a synchro problem. but how do i make sure its not a shifter fork problem?

 

Either way you will need to get the transmission opened and inspected. Can be a synchro/synchro spring issue, worn sleeve/hub/gear, or shift change assembly just to name a few. Once you get it opened check everything out and go from there. Keep us posted..good luck!
