i recently just started really painting too, REAL clear coat makes everything better lol

what brand paint are u gonna be using?

 

idk yet i get a free PPG OMNI plus basecoat and my dad has like 12 gallons of chromabase clear stacked up lol i mean hes painted top notch cars with that PPG OMNI and all that really makes the paint job is the clear coat i noticed chroma base goes on like real thick and the best one to me is the PPG clear its like 700 a gallon though lol

 

When you say omni ppg are you talking about ppg or ppg's lower line omni? Right now i have probably spent 230$ in "practice paint" using the OMNI, it is good stuff (but what do i no thats the only thing i have used so cant compare lol) but yea the guy at my local paint store always trys to push PPGs deltron clearcoat "EXPENSIVE" lol

All that makes the paint job is the clear??? And ppg clear $700?? Rofl You obviously dont have a idea about paint and body.PPG Omni is the lowest of the low.Its a urethane enamel,that **** is nothing but problems,that basecoat can cover a 220grit scratch!! and mottles easy when it a metallic or a pearl.And horrible color matches,Lots of cross hatching the basecoat to get it done correct and wrinkles when you come to spot basecoat in a area that needs a spot repair in.And ppg $700 a gallon rofl?!?!?! I used all types of clears man ppg GLOBAL,PPG deltron 2021,2002 Glasurit clears 901,spies hecker clears,dupont chromabase,dupont chromapremier.And I never seen a clear that was $700 Rofl come on man.Iam not hating on your build thread or flaming you but be real Iam laying the facts about,the clear making a paintjob,and the $700 dollars a gallon of ppg clear Rofl.

 

okay i dont kno how much it is i just here my pops maybe he meant between paint clear and reducer they spent 700 all together ne ways ppg omni how is it bad honestly it all depends on whos painting well the gallon im talking about ppg omni base coat gallon cost 112 plus tax here at my local ppg and here are some pics of the out come of this paint for the doughters









this was before wetsand and buffing the car oh and it wasnt painted in the spray both we didnt have one at the time


okay so maybee i dont know what im talking about when it comes to name wise and stuff i just started geting into it but honestly you cant knock the work thats being done here that 69 malibu not everyone can paint black car and see the body work done like that no wavings no dents just straight

it was a old black&decker butt ****ed up so i rebuilt it so basickly its a dewalt know i got 3 the best buffers imo
