Default 1990 B18A Integra Turbo Idle issue.

Hey guys, kinda new here..
Anyway i wanted to show my car to you guys and also maybe grab some advice.

Sometimes after the car has been running for a bit, and than i turn it off and let it sit for an hour or two, it has a little bit of trouble starting. starts and immediatly the RPMS drop and it dies, try it again and she starts up fine.

i am assuming this is in relation to sometimes when the car is idling, the RPMS change from around 700-200 and flucatutes. only when the car is warm and has been driven for a bit, and then it still only happens rarely.

The Car is a 1990 acura integra, B18A swap with a full turbo build. Here is the specs with a couple pictures. Thanks for any help guys!

Is the turbo spooling at idle. If it is not the motor is suffocating. the turbo may be acting like a blockage.

Well honestly I don't think my turbo is spooking at idle, my boost controller shows 0.00 x kpa and when I'm driving but not boosting it reads up to 0.03 x kpa

I have a stock FPR

At idle with no boost the stock FPR will have no effect on the motor running good or not. the pressure required is well within tolerance. take the charge pipe off and see how it runs then you will have your answer. Also can try to clean idle air controller. Also remember it is a hot rod and they all have funny quirks.

sorry if i am missing something but what would removing the charge pipe do?
, i will go aheead and clean the air controller but this is my daily driver, not a hot rod that is only bein driven once in a while.

Taking off the charge pipe will return the intake to stock like parameters. It could also just be a glitch in the tune. If the problem is really rare i would not worry about it. if it is something bad it will show up sooner or later.

So just remove the charge pipe and start her up and see if the idle changes any and if the problem goes away?

That is what i was thinking. If you drive it that way be easy on it. The ECU will still be looking for turbo and will fuel accordingly. It will run really rich (Not as bad as lean) at the higher RPM where the boost usually comes in. If the problem goes away then it is turbo related Really no biggie.

You could also be having a back spooling effect. That is where the turbo spins backwards because the pressure in the charge pipe is too strong. When you let off the gas if the blow off valve does not empty the charge fast enough it will cause the turbo to spin backwards. A slight curse of the super efficient ball bearing turbo. This can also cause a slight flutter, but it should not cause any problem at idle though. Good luck let me know what you find.
