Default price on labor to do ls/vtec

just like it says. i want to know what you guys paid a shop to do the ls/vtec. just labor wise now. before some one says just go turbo or something else, Been here done that. thanks guys..

Just out of curiosity, why'd you give up on the boost ?

My LSVT cost about $350 for machine work to the head..... Labor.... what labor ?

Do it yo-self... heh heh heh...

Why, did you find that high ? The oil passage was welded shut, dowels repositioned, slight milling. Measurements properly done, it's not cheap, but that also depends where you take it to be done. You can get an ole machine shop to do all that for about 2 bills.

Yeah, but I took mine to be inspected, measured, drilled, milled, (oh yeah and tapped for an oil line w/ NPT fitting...umm... minus $50 from my price) It was done by a local shop that specializes in Ferrari heads and the guy only takes repeat customers Ok, so I may have paid more... but I was confident in the job that was done... no guess work and a fully inspected/tested head.

PS... $100 is good

labor was 300 alone without parts, that how much i was charge, its the same as taking the head off, dont pay more than 350.

useing a non vtec bottom end ie (the block). and useing a vtec top ie (head). Put them together and you get an ls/vtec...

i've got like $1200-$1500 in my LS/VTEC, i did all the work myself. but i bought all new parts and i had to get the machine work done extra. this also includes a skunk2 intake manifold too.

built 1993 ls block never used
bored and honed cylinder walls
polished crank
block was fully balanced
civic type r pistons(.25 over)
2000 shot peened and polished ls rods
arp rod bolts
bran new honda rod and main bearings
bran new honda front and rear main seal
bran new honda thrust washers
bran new type r water pump
bran new type r oil pump
bran new honda piston rings
bran new honda timing belt
also comes with bran new honda head gasket gsr flywheel and exedy clutch

im asking 1400 on it but i can work something out if ur serious its never been used, put in a car or even had a head on it...everything is bran new, my loss ur gain everything cost me well over 1400..

Not really, a basic LSVT is very simple, oil lines and experience compreise the majority of the work after the head has been machined.

so let me get this strait..... if i got the block and head already.... then it should only cost me 350 to slap it together.... providing i put the motor in my self..

i would get 311 to do the work for me, but last time he put a d16 intake cam in my ls motor on accident and screw the head up . dont ask me how...

im close to 3,000 on mine and thats me doing the labor work,that's including motor mounts
