dei 520t Battery Back Up Failure
Will the dei 520t Battery Back Up cause the whole alarm system to shut down if it is no longer working correctly?
My alarm is no longer working but I originally blamed it on the broken remote key 5900 viper alarm. Really don't want to waste money on a remote if this is not the case.
Any ideas?

Depends, if the brain for the 520t went bad or not. You need to meter the brain to see if its getting power or not and ground. Then check the antenna.

If the alarm was working in perfect order and all of a sudden you cant arm or disarm your alarm anymore, its most likely a remote issue. Chances are you've dropped your keys, had them in your pocket while sitting down, bumped into something with the remote in your pocket, or put enough pressure on the remote to cause internal damage.
Its not likely that the 520t caused the alarm system to fail.
Now, when you say your alarm is not working, is the unit receiving power at all or are you just not able to arm/disarm with the remote?
