P30 problem, fuel pump wont start, pls help! :)
Hello, could anybody please help me with this crazy problem of mine
... I have a b16a with chipped P30 in there. the problem is that when i turn the ignition on the fuel pump wont start.. so the car wont start... sometimes a miracle happens, fuel pump starts and the car is fine.. but thats like once every 10 days
) I know its the ECU coz with other ECU car starts just fine... its not the chip , i did check. Some time ago i misplaced the Evap and ITA plugs and the F1780 burned ,.. i left it empty.. but that shouldn't be the problem.. i found another burned one on C24 (47mf 10v) but i did change it... i also resoldered almost everything in the ECU... but still didnt help. If anybody knows where fuel pump components are located on the ECU or where the funny problem could be coming from i would really appreciate you help

Quick easy fix is to ground the fuel pump wire at the ECU pin A7. Cut the wire at A7 and ground the harness side of it. The pump will stay on all the time though with ignition on
here is a picture of the back side of the burned Q31.. is it possible that maybe the fuel problem comes from the badly burned board ? the car was running fine, long after the Q31 burned, and people say that the q31 isnt important.. its the EVAP.. so on tuned ECU its not needed, thats why i think this shouldnt be the problem.. but if it is.. where should i solder cables to fix the burning.. ?
... thanks a lot
... thanks a lot
I did cut the A7 wire and ground it but pomp wont start.. thats strange.. are you sure its the A7? coz when i cut it.. and i put the working ECU .. the pump is still working fine ( with cut, non-ground it wire)...
Yup A7 on OBD1 ecu is the fuel pump. Are you sure u cut A7? http://www.dodo-upgrades.nl/pinoutp06p28p30.htm
haha LOL... i did cut the wrong wire
.. I was looking at the plug and there is a number at the beginning and at the end so i tho number 7 is the 7th wire on the first line
)) how smart of me
Well Thanks A LOT
.I hope i find a better way to fiz this problem.. i was told to change the QM3, this is the one that controls the fuel pump replay and injector Number 3.. ( i've always had a problem with 3rd cylinder.. maybe thats why). so i hope thats the problem
.. anybody has any detailed "map" for the P30?..everything for P30..

Its usually one of the capacitors that goes bad that causes the fuel pump not to work. I usually end up changing alot of them and still have the pump not working. I just ground the pump wire and call it a day.
... and i guess there is no way to check if the QM3 is bad or good.... but as you said if changing the capacitors doesnt help that the QM3 might help
Because as it is in my case.. its not only the fuel pump.. its also the 3rd cylinder that this qm3 controls.. and you wont notice that the 3rd is running bad.. but when i brake the 3rd cylinder a couple of times like me.. then you will start wondering what is going on
.. well maybe its not the injectors fault.. maybe its bad luck or bad mapping
.. but to me it sounds like.. everybody who gets the 2 plugs wrong(EVAP and IAT) burns the IAT sensor and possibly the ECU.. and if the ECU burns bad.. than it could lead to other failures like fuel pump and 3rd injector and so on
I'm far not a professional .. i'm just trying to think logical
