Ok so I have a honda civic hatchback, it has a GSR 4 disc brake conversion. My wheels are starting to sound like they need new bearings they are roaring at high speeds and when slowing down. Would changing them be any different that if it was with the drum brakes? and should I take it to a shop and have it done or do it myself?

 

it sounds like a wheel bearing... dont take it to a shop it easy as hell take the rear breakes off(rotor, pads and caliper) and there one nut(32mm) that hold it on and wiggle it off 10min job

 

Yeah thats what I thought, is it safe to drive on them? Cause its my DD, and I kinda need to drive it when I go out. But what else is there to remove when changing the bearings? I can take off the caliper, rotor and pads. Is there a guide or anything on how to do it?

 

not safe to drive on for a long period of time.. if it just started u should be fine...if it the rear bearing like i said 10 min job take rotor pad and caliper off and there i nut the hold the bearing on that it easy to do... if it a front bearing a little difficult have to take the whole front knuckle off and press the bearing out

 

I don't think its the front bearing; I think it is just the rear. Should I have to get bearing for the integra GSR or for my hatch? Cause like I said it has the 4 disk GSR disc brakes.

should be same part number not positive just get it for a GSR or just cross reference the part number
