I'm on my 4th reman alternator from autozone in 1.5 years and its pissing me off, but they have lifetime warranty..can the extra heat from my stainless steal headers be a factor or the remans suck..i have a cigarette plug-in alternator & battery tester and the alternator is charging when im off the gas n not when on the gas..i checked it during idle when the tester said alternator wasn't charging, battery was at 12.7volts with DMM reading..any help will be great..thanks

 

did you check your ground to the battery and frame. and the on from the engine. make sure they are clean and tight. this may solve majority of alternator issues.

Buy a new one instead of a re-manufactured one. Theres tons of cheap new ones online.

 

What model civic do you have? What engine?

 

i have a 99 ex..1.6L..
