ok, well this problem with my hatch has been eating at me for weeks now! when i first got it my hatch(90 dx b16a sir 1) it ran great but when id try and hold a steady speed or solid throttle position it would sputter and not really wanna go anywhere then when i go half throttle or more it would quit and run like its supposed to but no matter what speed i was trying to hold or rpm it would do it! i was throwing a code for tdc sensor and knock sensor(vtec was still working tho?) so i replaced my dizzy wasnt throwing a cel for like a good 15-20mins and started throwing a code for tdc sensor again and now all of a sudden it wont rev past 6k it just stops and dont bounce like fuel cut just sits at 6k someone help!

Doesnt obd0 dizzys have tdc in the dizzy? If so u cant swap it out. Maybe bad wiring. If your knock sensor is bad then itll make you run like crap. Do some google searching like i.e knock on b16 not running right, just try different searches.

 

The first symptom, the stumbling under steady load, sounds a lot like sticking egr valve. I've plugged the line from them a couple times for a temporary fix. Just a thought.

 

Timing is messed up or motor wasent set up at TDC. Did you set the timing when you installed the dizzy or did you just slap it on?

 

motor was purchased and dropped in without bein takin apart so not off time and dizzy will only go in one way so you cant just "slap it in" and yes the tdc sensor is in the dizzy and i replaced the dizzy and its still doing it throwing a code for it!
