2005 Civic Ex - What to do with bad Input Shaft Bearing
Hi,
I have a bad input shaft bearing in my manual trans. With the car in neutral and foot off the clutch, I get some grinding noise. And there is clicking noise too when I am driving, but only when I give it gas.
I talked to a couple of trans places and my options are:
1) find a used trans and have it installed
2) find a rebuilt trans and have it installed
3) have the shop rebiuld my trans
I have 115k on the car and need it to last 3 more years. The bearing started acting up at 85k with the clicking noise in gear.
What would you do? or what have you done with yours with a bad input shaft bearing?
Thanks,
Jeff

I'd go with option "2" or "3", personally. Used transmissions can sit in lots for a while, so you may end up getting the same issue again within a shorter amount of time then you'd like.
