Vtec Solenoid Valve on a B18B1 code thrown
okay dumb question. there is no Vtec solenoid valve on a b18b1 correct? my friend is telling me there is but.. ya thats what code is being thrown on my CEL.
Look at the ecu on one of the sides there should be a white label on one of the sides, it has a bunch of numbers what are the #'s? Or better yet post a pic. It might just be that you have a VTEC ecu.
problem is that the previous owner removed the stickers. but i gotta get a new one because i think a resistor blew on it. something blew on it anyhow. the case has like a black smoke mark on it. my only thing is if i get a new one im afraid of the same thing happening. i checked all the plugs. and everyone was just right except the wire for TPS and for MAP were not the right colors.
B18A = no vtec
B18A1 = no vtec
B18B1 = no vtec
B18C1 = vtec
B18C3 = vtec
B18C4 = vtec
B18C5 = vtec
B18C6 = vtec
B18C7 = vtec
B20B = no vtec
unless you got a LS-vtec or like virgineg6 said you could have the wrong ECU.
