Noob amp question... pics
Hello, I recently bought a prelude and it came with a Panasonic deck, 4 Hifonics Speakers (Zeus 6.5 components and Zeus 6x9's amped with a Hifonics Titan 4 Channel amp).
The previous owner had subs in it and removed them when I bought it (because I didnt want them). My question is... do I still need this amp since the subs are out?
The previous owner also has it set up so I must push a button on and off every time I want to turn on the sounds system. He said to leave it off when ever the car is off because it will drain the battery in 2 hours. I dont like that. I dont mind keeping the amp, but pushing that button is annoying. I'm always afraid ill leave it on and drain my battery.

Amp, with wires everywhere

This is the button I was talking about, and an ipod hook-up as well (which I want to keep)

And he freakin did this...

Eventually Id like stock tweeters back (cuz this looks like ****).
Im a total noob to audio stuff, but Id appreciate the help. Thanks

My guess is that the "amp turn on" lead off the HU, [CD player] is blown so the OO rewired the amps control lead through the button so he could turn off the amp.
You will need to pull the HU and check the control lead, [blue or blue/white lead] it should have power only when HU is on. 94

Since you're a newb I would say take it to a stereo shop and have them look at it. More then likely he either didn't know what he was doing or blew the remote out like fcm said. That wiring is horrible and should be cleaned up anyway.
If it's the stereo remote wire they are cheap enough these days that I would just buy a new reciever. Have them throw it in then have them remove the switch.
Bad news on the tweeters you will need to buy that entire plastic piece. There will be a big hole once you remove those tweeters. I'm going to say the guy probably had no idea what he was doing. Any normal person would have popped the tweeter cover off and mounted it behind the stock location.

nsxxtreme: Looking at the install, I'd say the guy didn't really either know what he was doing or care what he was doing. I'd NEVER let wire hang out like that in the picture of the battery terminal connection (looks ugly as hell for starters), and that tweeter install is a half-assed ugly job
